There must be thousands of blog posts about setting goals for the new year. A goal is an end in sight…that’s all it is. Thousands of people will set goals for 2018. Some are lofty, some are simple. Some are easy to achieve, others not attainable.
Most likely you have heard that goals should be specific, realistic and measurable. That’s true. However, the goal itself will not ensure success without strategies and accountability. That’s where the going gets tough.
For example, a common new year goal is weight loss. Let’s say you want to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks so the strategies would include recording daily calories, an exercise routine and possibly nutrition counseling and fitness training. Accountability makes all the difference in achieving results. That’s why Weight Watchers is successful, not so much because of the calorie counting in “points” but in accountability.
Life coaching centers around accountability. If you want to achieve something new or move in a different direction in 2018 consider making yourself accountable with the support of a life coach. I’d love to speak with you in a complimentary discovery session about what you would like to achieve in the new year. Please give me a call, send a text or email. Make 2018 the best year of YOU!
